South East Asia

My first introduction to South East Asia in 1974 started a life long fascination with that part of the world.  So many countries in such a small area,  yet each has its own intense culture, cuisine, and way of life.  I return to explore new places every chance I get.  There have also been repeat trips to Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Bali, and it has been startling to see places that had no electricity on my first trip, transformed so quickly into high end package tour destinations.  Still, it doesn't take much effort to quickly get off the main path and  back into ways of life unaffected by the western world.  The following are a sample of images available. (See also separate pages for Vietnam, Laos-Cambodia, Myanmar (Burma), and Thailand).
